Mary Austin and other guild members have selected and annotated several web sites that they personally find useful and feel will be of interest. This is not an exhaustive listing of quilting resources on the web. Several sites that do strive for comprehensiveness are listed below.

Fabric & Quilting Supplies:

5bucksayard.com All well-known fabric lines, probably last year's line, but quite a large and beautiful selection. A good place to look for fabric for a bed quilt.

eQuilter.com Another very large fabric site.  Also has an email newsletter.  One unique and very usable part is the "design" feature, where you can put all of your shopping cart items on the same page to see if they coordinate, and move them around. Sorta neat.

GloriousFabrics.com.  This great site has batiks, ikat, hand-dyed, marbleized and Japanese fabrics, as well as patterns for clothing and quilts, plus books.  Worth checking out.

International Fabric Collection What a website for those interested in ethnic/foreign fabrics!!! African, Guatemalan ikats, Liberty of London, French (including sunny yellows and blues from Provence), Japanese of all kinds, and a wide variety of sashiko needs includingpreprinted fabrics, needles, threads of many colors (including multicolored) and solid indigo fabric. Feast your eyes!

Cherrywood Fabrics Marvelous suede-finish hand-dyed cotton solids in graduated color ranges.

Denver Fabrics Fabric for fashion, dancewear, costumes, rug hooking, crafts and home decor. Many silk, wool, and linen designer fabrics. Prices often at or below wholesale fabric pricing. Also sewing notions, trims, books and patterns at discount.

ReproductionFabrics.com This fun site features reproductions of fabrics from the colonial era up through the Depression, as well as timeless classics and gorgeous natural indigo prints. Suggested by Pam Carlson.

The Glorious Color Shop, formerly Glorious Patchwork, specializes in fabric, books, patterns, and other products designed or selected for quilters by Kaffe Fassett and Liza   Prior Lucy. Suggested by Linda Warnock.

Fabric Mart Hawai'ian fabrics at wholesale prices. Huge selection, but unfortunately a 5 yard minimum and no samples.

DyeArtist Fabrics More than 600 colors of hand-dyed fabric, including 8-step value gradations, multicolor variegated fabrics, hue progressions, color wheels, hand-painted, discharged and over-dyed fabrics.

The Shibori DragonInterested in sashiko? This site has it all.  Samplers and fabric; thread (many colors) and needles, patterns, stencils and books.  A very large selection.

Fat Quarter Shop Specializing in fat quarter bundles for the quilting enthusiast.

Colour Creations Fabrics 100% Kona cotton hand-dyed fabric. Wide variety of gradations, multicolors and tie-dyes.

Artfabrik / Hand dyed fabrics OK, you've all seen the hand-dyed fabrics online.  How about hand-dyed threads?  This is Melody Johnson's site and also has her gallery.

Nancy Rink Designs A nice selection of hand dyed color gradations, free block of the month pattern, quilt gallery, book and product reviews, tips and patterns.

The Thread Studio Interesting and unusual threads, embellishments and other notions from Australia. Suggested by Carol Tackett.

Superior Threads has pages of educational tips and information on their site. Recommended by Carol Tackett.

Shoppers Rule: A very extensive list of sewing equipment (as well as other categories).  They list the products (YLI threads, scissors, Sulky product, etc., etc. with the retail price (it's up to you to do the research on pricing) and you make an offer.  They let you know via email if they accept the offer.

Don't overlook The Loft, conveniently located in Sundstrom Mall, 39225 So. Hwy 1 in Gualala: No web site, but they do have a telephone: 707.884.4424, and Marva will be happy to offer you her expert help.

Quilting Software, Patterns, Products & Clip Art:

CompuQuilt - Software for the computerized quilter

Quilting at About.com - free quilt patterns -  quilting tips & clip art  If you subscribe to their email newsletter you get good stuff.

Quilt Blocks Galore: Quilt Patterns "Wow!!" according to Mary. The site contains a "gazillion" block patterns,  it says.  That is just about right -- most traditional, some original .  All directions are for 12" blocks, unless stated otherwise.  Directions include cutting directions, how to make a template for the pattern (if necessary), how to press for easy final piecing. It may also include setting options.  One page is an alphabetical listing of all the blocks, which indicates level of difficulty and whether block is pieced or appliqued.

Quilter's Cache Quilt blocks galore, plus applique and paper-piecing instructions and templates, fabric care and other tips and how-tos.

Cottonwood Quilts Sells easy quilt patterns and kits, and features a beginners' block of the month. Also includes lots of quilting information and tips, and a newsletter where readers can ask questions about quilting.
