Treasurer's Report given by Carol Tackett

Discussion was held on the costs of our programs, workshops, rental and newsletter. We have not had a shortfall ever in the Guild. Discussion was held on ways to keep our costs down but maintain the excellence of our programs and workshops

Report of Ways and Means Committee, Marilyn Limbaugh

Action Items

2007 Budget presented by Lynne Atkins. The budget will show a deficit of $2,750 if we raise the membership dues to $40.00. If we offer an electronic option to members for the newsletter and 50% take advantage and we fill our classes over the minimum enrollment, the deficit is reduced to $1,670. We do have a need for fundraising. Proposed 2007 Budget

MSP to raise the Dues to $40.00 Dakin/Warnock

MSP to give our membership the option to receive the newsletter electronically or to keep receiving it by mail. This option will be discussed at our meetings. Positive responses from e-mails will be required before changing the member over to electronic newsletter. This will not begin until January. Windsor/Limbaugh. Amended by Warnock.

Program Committee recommendation presented by Janet Windsor for Gail Sims. Proposed 2007 Programs

Discussion was held on the possibility of having our classes and workshops be part of the Workshops at GAC.

Positive items include no rental fee involved in the workshops; the class enrollment would be handled by GAC. GAC would provide the publicity and the option to pay be credit card would be available.

75% of the money would go to the Guild, 25% to GAC. We would structure the fees so that we would pay for the workshop instructors out of our money. GAC will add an additional fee to the registration cost if the registrant is not a member of the guild.

MSP to accept the recommendation of the Ways and Means Committee to have GAC handle our workshops and classes. Windsor/Gaudet

MSP to accept the 2007 Budget as presented by Lynne Atkins for Kathye Hitt. Limbaugh/Sears

Committee Reports

Special Events - Anita Kaplan

The retreat is on schedule, but she is concerned about the minimum attendance and she is going to call some of the people that went last year to see if she can increase the attendance and therefore insure that we can use the Hot Springs again next year.

Festival of the Trees

Marilyn Limbaugh reported that people are completing projects, hangings, potholders, table runners, napkins and place mats. We can use more nice things.

Challenge

Carol Tackett has challenge fabric available and will have it at the next meeting. Polly reported that the theme is "Flights of Fantasy"

Comfort Quilts

Polly Dakin reported that we have enough batting for 2006/7 and enough quilts to get us through the next few months. Next workshop is February.

AIR Quilt

Laura Hamilton reported that people have blocks and hopefully will bring them in to the next few meetings.

Hospitality

Joyce Gaudet would appreciate people to sign up ahead so that calling would just be a reminder. Joyce is the Cookie Queen.

Membership

Carol read a report from Gail Spencer. We have 104 current members. Dues are due in January but they trickle in all year. She would like suggestions on how to encourage members to pay early or on time!!!

ATC Challenge

For our last challenge due in October, Members are asked to bring in multiples of two cards for $5.00. Card traders will get to choose one card to take home and the other cards will be for sale at the Festival Booth.

New Business

Carol discussed the possibility of using the classrooms downstairs for future small workshops, i.e. dyeing and surface designs since there is a large sink and will also have a washer and dryer.

Meeting adjourned at 10:15 a.m.
