The meeting was called to order at 1:04
P. M. by President Marilyn Limbaugh during the Quilts of Valor workshop.
Lola
De Longorita, and Laura Hamilton showed the top for the Art In The RedwoodÕs Quilt. (AIR) The quilt, called ÒTropical SplendorÓ will be quilted by Sharon Malachowski. Joyce Gaudet is also working
on the quilt. It is beautiful.
Polly Dakin thanked Carol Tackett
for running the current 2007 Challenge Show. Carol thanked Polly Dakin,
Anna Hines, Gail Sims, Janet Windsor, Barbara Dunsmoor and Marilyn Limbaugh for
helping hang the show and decorate.
Anna Hines, next yearÕs challenge shows chairperson, announced the theme ÒI found it in the LibraryÓ. Please scan the cover of the book
you use, if possible. The GAC has requested a $10.00 entry fee for the pieces
that are not for sale. The 2009 Challenge Show will be chaired by Gail
Sims with help from Anna Hines and Polly Dakin. The theme and information
for that show needs to be submitted to the GAC by December 2007.
The
News letter dead line for the July issue is June 27, 2007. Please summit your
articles to Janet Windsor.
The Festival of the Trees
Carol Tackett
announced there will be a workshop on September 13, 2007 to make things for The
Festival of the Trees. Start working on your things now.
Ricky
TimÕs Super quilt Seminar will be January 24 to 26, 2008 in
Livermore. We are promotional partner. We get $100.00 worth of Ricky TimÕs materials for being a promotional partner. There is no cost to our
Guild.
The cost to attend the workshop is as follows:
Single registration $199.00
Group of 2-9 registration $174.00 per person
Group of 10 or more registration $ 159.00 per person
We will register
as a group for the lower price.
Ricky Tims, Alex Anderson and Libby Lehman will
all be there.
They will have all lectures and no hands on workshops. There was
a sign up sheet passed around.
Some comfort quilts have been
too small. The minimum size is
45Óx 60Ó
