After a lunch of a salad bar and desserts, at 1:00 pm Carol Tackett made announcements and recognized others who wished to make announcements .

Next month the By-laws Committee will have a first draft of by-laws available for members to consider.

A dye sink has been installed in the Gualala Arts Center basement. Janet Sears, Mary Austin, and Carol Tackett will give instructions on procedures to anyone who wants to use the sink. There may be a “drop-in “ fee to use the room. The guild may have to purchase supplies for the dye sink.

Mirka Knaster announced that Patchwork Cat in Benicia is closing August 23. The shop will be open beginning July 31 on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 10 am to 5 pm Prices are 40% off on everything/ 1 yard minimum.

The treasurer, Kalynn Olson, reported a balance of $19,875.

The April 2009 Quilt Challenge theme is “It’s Easy Being Green.”

Newsletter deadline is Saturday, July 26.

Quilts of Valor chairperson said she has several quilts and is looking forward to more.

Block of the Month is not generating much enthusiasm. We’ll wait a couple of months for more entries.

A few of our Comfort Quilts will be hanging on the walls during the run of “Steel Magnolias” at the Gualala Arts Center.

Thanks were extended to Marilyn Limbaugh, Carol Tackett, and Lola DeLongoria for creating the Art in the Redwoods raffle quilt, “Autumn of My Dreams.”

The program for the September meeting (third Friday of the month) will be Cindy Needham of Superior Threads. That morning from 9 am to 12 pm she will teach a workshop on how to use all Superior threads.

The October meeting is changed to the fourth Friday. Janet Windsor will speak about national quilt shows.

Anna Hines will have a book signing on Saturday, August 9, at 4 pm at Four-Eyed Frog Books.

Seven members participated in Show and Tell.
