Workshop and General Meeting

January 16, 2009

The meeting was called to order by President Barbara Dunsmoor at 1:00 p.m.

Treasurer: Next yearŐs budget is available from treasurer Kalynn Oleson. Total income from the Festival of Trees is $3,675.95.

Program: plans were presented. In February, Anderson Valley Quilters will show their quilts. Please bring quilts to show to them. Rebecca Rohrkaste is our March speaker. Openings exist in her 1-day class. The program schedule is on-line.

Membership: 53% of 117 members from 2008 have paid for 2009. Dues is $40 per year. A little extra over the dues amount is always welcome as an angel gift. Anyone not paid by March will not be a continuing member.

Newsletter: Deadline is January 26.

Library: Suggestions for books to be added to the library are welcome.

Hospitality: Thanks to the hospitality committee were extended for the luncheon today.

Retreat: Please e-mail questions to Anita Kaplan.

2009 Challenge Show: Registration forms must be turned in by April 3.

 Comfort Quilts: Batting is available for comfort quilts. Please use the batting only for comfort quilts.

Quilts of Valor: 14 quilts are in hand or promised. The next delivery to soldiers is February.

New Business: Nominating committee is beginning its list. Each small quilting group needs to send a representative to the committee meeting tentatively set for the first week in February. Let Barbara Dunsmoor know who the rep will be. She will also welcome offers to serve in an elected office.

                         The National Coalition for Ovarian Cancer is soliciting sewing supplies and fabric that you are not using for their fund raising sale March 28 and 29 at the John Muir Medical Center. Sharon Malachowski is our contact.

Show and Tell quilts were shared with the group.
