Fine Arts Fair Booth:  Sylvia Edwards asked for help in setting up the booth and for people to help man the booth over the Labor Day weekend.

Quilts of Valor:  Marilyn Limbaugh announced that she and Carol Tackett had delivered this year’s offerings to the Veteran’s Hospital in Palo Alto.  She had several touching and heartwarming stories to tell and was outspoken about the thrill and gratitude that the injured veterans felt in being gifted with these beautiful quilts.

Name Tag Raffle:  it was won (again!) by Claire McPherson.

AIR Quilt:  Janet Windsor pointed out that it is on display in the lobby and will be traveling.  It has been displayed on one of the new display frames.

Show and Tell:  a number of quilters shared their latest offerings.

Joyce told of some magnets and a Black and Decker iron which have turned up.  She also read the letter of a nurse in El Centro who is asking for donations of fabric for quilts intended for children who have to spend the night in the hospital.  Members willing to donate can give their offerings to Jan Carter.

Mary Smith then introduced the day’s speaker, Mary Austin, who took the group on a fascinating tour of Japanese country fabrics.
