PPQG GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING
October 23, 2009
Carol Tackett and Marilyn Limbaugh, subbing for President Jan Carter, called the meeting to order at 1:01 p.m.
The previous month’s minutes were approved, and a number of guests were introduced.
Treasurer: Kalynn reported a balance of $20,109.79.
Progams: Mary Smith thanked Mary Austin for her Sashiko workshop, and reminded the group that Marjan Kluepfel will present the November workshop on “Seascapes.” She also pointed out that members can sign up for workshops on Gualala Arts “Brown Paper Tickets” site.
Festival of Trees: Sylvia Edwards demonstrated a number of the offerings that members have made for the holiday bazaar, including aprons, dolls, crayon bags, “paper” dolls, etc.
AIR Quilt: Janet Windsor reported “no progress.”
Challenge Show: Karen Shanower reminded the group that March 14 is the date for the 2010 Challenge.
Comfort Quilts: Polly Dakin indicated that we are in need of quilts with a “feminine” aspect.
Quilts of Valor: Marilyn Limbaugh reported being pleased with the number of QOVs, but hoped for many, many more. She pointed out that the retreat would be a good time for people to work on one.
Carol Tackett announced that the Guild has bought an accu-cut dye cutter which can be used by members for comfort quilts and quilts of valor.
Holiday luncheon: Renata will be handling it, with the help of Kalynn and Carol. The date is December 11.
Retreat: Anita Kaplan announced that the retreat, scheduled for February 8-10, is now full at 25 participants. Those wanting to be included can go on a waiting list.
Membership: Gail Spencer reported that dues are now being collected for next year. Members can also pay at the Holiday luncheon.
Hospitality: Lola thanked those who helped out.
Name Tag Raffle: Katy Horn won the prize.
