PPQG Monthly Meeting Minutes
March 19, 2010

President Joyce Gaudet called the meeting to order at 1:05 p.m.

One guest, and approximately 30 members attending.

1. She asked that the Guild members accept the new slate of officers, moved to accept Carol Tackett, second by Kalynn Oleson, motion approved.
2. Joyce asked if there were any additions or corrections to the Feb. minutes. Carol Tackett moved to accept the minutes, Lola Delongoria, second, minutes approved.

Treasurer's Report: Kalynn Oleson

Total, $13,338 after expenses and the $10,000 donation towards the elevator.

Committee Reports

1. Program: Mary Smith, next month Rachel Clark
2. Continuing Education: Kalynn Oleson, maybe a change in approach timing of classes
4. Publicity: no report
5: Newsletter: Janet Windsor deadline, March 25
6. Library: Anna Hines, new book, 500 Art Quilts, Anita Kaplan has 2 quilts in it.
7. Hospitality: Lola DeLongoria- thank you to everyone who has brought sweets in the years. So appreciated.
8. Festival of the Trees-no report.
9. Special Events: Renata Lopez look forward to a picnic in the summer.
10. Challenge: Karen Shanower, thanks to all the participants, those who helped set up. Those who brought snacks, and who helped in many ways to make it happen.
11. Comfort Quilts: Polly Dakin presented 4 quilts this past week. Carol Tackett, Sylvia Keller and Claire McPherson donated quilts.
12. Quilts of Valor: Joyce Gaudet, Gail Spencer turned theirs in.
13. AIR Quilt: fabric purchased.
14. Claire McPherson won the Name Tag Drawing.
15. Show and Tell: Claire McPherson finished a "Twisted Sister" wall hanging, Carla Basom showed her Comfort Quilt from the Monday Quilters, and a new member showed off her class projects from a Santa Rosa class.

Joyce called on Mary Smith to introduce our speaker, Rebecca Amissah-Aidoo from Ananse Village in Fort Bragg. She also brought African fabrics to show and sell.
